Position: Receptionist/Intake Coordinator
Salary: DOE. Health, dental, vacation, retirement benefits
Hours: 40 hrs/week
Deadline: February 15, 2008, or open until filled

CAA is a nationally recognized and respected civil rights organization that advances and protects the rights of Asian and Pacific Americans. Rooted in San Francisco’s Chinese American community, CAA also works within the broader Asian and Pacific American (APA) community and has forged strong alliances with other communities of color and historically disenfranchised groups to advance civil rights.

Responsibilities:

The Receptionist/Intake Coordinator provides overall administrative support for the organization and assists clients seeking employment services and other assistance, such as:

  • Staff front desk, answer phones, greet visitors;
  • Assist new employment clients with intake procedures, screen for eligibility, and register clients for workshops;
  • Provide information to drop-in clients and callers and make referrals to community services;
  • Open and sort mail, process bulk mail;
  • Maintain office supplies and inventory;
  • Supervise work-study students and volunteers;
  • Assist with translation of documents;
  • Maintain donor database (Sage50) and generate reports and thank you letters as needed;
  • Log-in and deposit checks and generate monthly receipts reports; and
    Other administrative duties as assigned, including assistance to management staff.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Bilingual in English and Cantonese, Mandarin also helpful;
  • Ability to read and write Chinese and English;
  • Two years previous experience as a receptionist/administrative assistant;
  • Strong Windows XP and Microsoft Office computer skills.

Preferred experience:

  • Chinese software and Chinese tablet input; and
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of CAA.
