Today, all of us at Chinese for Affirmative are simultaneously heartbroken, horrified, and outraged by the terror attacks against New Zealand mosques.
The families and friends of the 49 individuals killed have our deepest sympathies, and we express our deepest condolences to the Muslim community.
As we grieve, we also re-commit ourselves to end all manifestations of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate. We stand with all those who feel today’s pain and are resolved to heal it through the necessary work of fighting bigotry and oppression.
This act of violence also confirms that the ideology of white supremacy is not confined by national boundaries, and must be confronted wherever and whenever its roots take hold.
