CAA will be present and in support of Justice for Jerome. Details taken from Facebook post:
April 19, 2019 marks one year since the detainment and torture of Jerome Aba, a Moro youth peace advocate from Mindanao, Philippines, at San Francisco International Airport.
Jerome Aba was invited to the U.S. by human rights organizations, church leaders, and Congressional leaders to discuss the current conditions and everyday experiences of Moro-Muslim peoples under President Duterte’s Martial Law in Mindanao. Upon arrival in SFO, he was immediately detained, psychologically tortured by personnel of Customs & Border Protection for over 28 hours, and was deported back to the Philippines.
As we continue to fight for Justice for Jerome, BAYAN-Northern California and MIGRANTE Northern California invite you all to an indignation rally, calling for and end to torture at SFO, accountability from Customs & Border Protection and Department of Homeland Security, and for an end to militarization – land, sea, or air!
When: April 19, 2019, 6-7pm
Where: SFO, International Arrivals between Doors 2 & 3
Join BAYAN USA & MIGRANTE USA as we kick off the San Francisco Bay Area & Northern California leg of the National MAKIBAKA: A U.S. Speaking Tour on the Filipino People’s Resistance Against Duterte’s Dictatorship.
