Chinatown could make history in electing the First Chinese American woman to represent District 3 on the Board of Supervisors

SAN FRANCISCO, CAChinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco, and the Coalition for Community Safety and Justice (CCSJ) are hosting an in-person candidate forum for District 3. District 3 is one of the city’s most vibrant and historic areas, encompassing neighborhoods such as Chinatown, North Beach, the Financial District, Nob Hill and Russian Hill. This event provides an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the candidates running for the District 3 Supervisor seat.

WHO: Confirmed candidates include Moe Jamil, Sharon Lai, Eduardo Navarro, Danny Sauter, Matthew Susk

WHAT: The forum will focus on key issues impacting the community including strengthening the community safety infrastructure, school closures and youth safety, priorities for the Office of Victim and Witness Rights, and lack of affordable housing in District 3. 

WHEN: Friday, September 13, 2024, 5:30 to 7:00 pm 

WHERE: Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco, 750 Kearny Street, 3rd Floor, SF, CA 94108

This event is free. Forum will be conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese and Mandarin. Childcare & light refreshments available, but please register here.

Attendees will have the chance to submit questions for the candidates in advance as well as in-person.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, CAA does not endorse any candidates. These events are strictly nonpartisan voter education opportunities. All candidates have been invited to participate.
