In reaction to the highly publicized incidents of violent crimes, some groups in the San Francisco Chinese community are promoting gun ownership as a means for self-protection. Because of our long commitment to seeking non-enforcement, long term and prevention, and safety solutions, we had to speak out.
CAA Co-Executive Director Cynthia Choi, Supervisor Gordon Mar and Rev. Norman Wong published an op-ed in the San Francisco Examiner to demand for stronger gun control laws, especially in the wake of mass shootings in Gilroy and other parts of the country.
