CAA has taken the lead to provide COVID-19 relief to undocumented, low-income, immigrant API families who are facing substantial disruption to financial stability, public health, and safety. Since early May, we’ve partnered with the Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs and the San Francisco Human Service Agency to bolster the community outreach efforts of their Give2SF program to distribute grocery gift cards to those in need.

CAA has processed 74 applicants with over 300 individuals and families to track on our waitlist. Applicants will receive one-time gift cards valued between $200-599 depending on household size. In total we expect to provide 700 gift cards to immigrant families and are planning to continue our outreach to AAPI community members that we have established a relationship with through our community building programs.

We are also partnering with Southeast Asian Development Center to expand our reach beyond Chinese language communities in need, reaching other AAPI Limited English Proficient families.
