San Francisco, CA – On Monday, President Barack Obama will visit San Francisco’s Chinatown to talk about his immigration reform efforts. Immigrant rights advocates and immigrant youth, led by ASPIRE (Asian Students Promoting Immigrant Rights through Education), Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Asian Law Caucus (亞美公義促進中心｜亞洲法律聯會), Chinese for Affirmative Action (華人權益促進會), and Chinese Progressive Association (華人進步會) will demonstrate outside where he is scheduled to speak to urge him to end the deportation of immigrants while his administration works to pass immigration reform. Record numbers of immigrants have been deported and separated from their families under President Obama’s administration, including documented and undocumented immigrants from the Asian community.
