When you support CAA this election year, you’re fighting for democracy. This summer, CAA already won big — from advocacy for equitable internet access to securing City funding for immigrant services!

Together, we’ll continue to be victorious this November with big plans to empower communities to vote and be civically engaged. Read on to learn more! Remember — we rely on you to make this happen.

You Won Back Budget Items for the People

In June, the City’s drastic budget cuts to employment services and immigrant parent voting threatened the quality of life for immigrants. Together, we showed up at City Hall and secured some important budget wins. Thank you for advocating for investments that support our communities!

You Secured Life-Saving Language Access for the City

After a year-long fight to strengthen and amend San Francisco’s Language Access Ordinance, we won!

Now, the City will include a whole new language in its translated materials — Vietnamese — and will encourage the hiring of more bilingual service staff. This victory would not have been possible without you — we rely on your support to advocate for our communities.

Together, we’ll keep winning this election year.

We’re empowering our Chinatown community to vote in local elections! Later this fall, we’ll be hosting two Chinese-language candidate forums for the District 3 Supervisor and SFUSD elections.

Providing in-language resources is a crucial part of making our elections fair and accessible. In addition to our candidate forums, CAA is also releasing our voter guide for California voters in both English and Chinese! The voter guide launches this September — keep an eye out for it in your inbox.

Thank you for supporting our work. Together, we’ll keep winning big this fall!

Come Visit Us In-Person & Learn About Our Stories!

Asian Americans for Civil Right and Equality (AACRE) recently released a bilingual English-Chinese zine on reparations for Black communities and communities of color, which CAA staff supported through translations and Chinese community outreach. If you’d like to grab a copy of the zine yourself, and perhaps, check out some more Asian American diaspora art and activism, come by Edge on the Square (800 Grant Ave, SF) to see the exhibit “Walking Stories” co-presented by Asian Amerians for Civil Rights and Equality. The free exhibit is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.!

Edge on the Square is operated by the Chinatown Media & Arts Collaborative (CMAC). CAA is a founding organization of CMAC.
