Coalition of Over 80 Asian American Advocacy Organizations Secure Removal of ‘China Initiative’ Language from House CJS Appropriations Bill

A coalition of Asian American organizations commend the removal of concerning report language from the appropriations bill that would have effectively re-established the discredited ‘China Initiative.’

Our Issue Areas

Immigrant Rights

Effective immigrant rights work means providing full access to critical legal services as well as robust advocacy to protect the dignity and fair treatment of all immigrants.

Economic Justice

A just society requires all individuals to have sustainable employment and economic opportunities that grow shared community wealth and equity.

Language Diversity

Public policy should reflect the reality that we live in a multi-lingual society by supporting multi-lingual education and ensuring all have access to public services regardless of their English proficiency.

Education Equity

Equity in our pre-K to higher education systems means racially diverse classrooms and programs that are universally accessible, high-quality, and tuition and cost free.

Census 2030

An accurate and complete Census count protects the political representation and fair share of public resources for communities of color and immigrants who are and have been disenfranchised.

Community Safety & Justice

Racial profiling, national security scapegoating, and mass incarceration must be replaced with systems that humanize and protect the safety of all people.
