Today, Chinese for Affirmative Action and Stop AAPI Hate are launching Stop The Blame, a new campaign to address anti-Asian scapegoating in the United States.

We, the undersigned 52 Asian American and allied organizations, write to you with a sense of urgency and a shared commitment to safeguarding the principles of justice, equality, and privacy in our nation.

This summer was filled with disappointment, hope, and progress. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power in our communities, and the need to celebrate victories as well.

We must remember that this doesn’t end with affirmative action. It ends when we all arrive at justice and freedom together — all our communities together.

The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to make a decision on affirmative action in college admissions later this month, and with a conservative supermajority, things may seem bleak. Education should allow students to follow their dreams, celebrate their identities, and reach their full potential. Sign the petition to call on our college and universities to affirm this promise.

The pandemic has left too many young people in San Francisco feeling isolated and unsafe. To hear directly from young people and community members, CAA recently organized a Youth Safety Town Hall.

Bigotry and intolerance continue to be on the rise across the country. Of great alarm is not only extremist rhetoric rooted in white supremacy, but legislative proposals to ban gender-affirming care, erase African American history, and demonize all concerns related to or associated with China and Chinese people.

While much of the country is rightfully preoccupied with Florida’s efforts to eliminate African American history from schools, a quieter but equally dangerous racist development is happening in Texas and beyond.
